Research. Recover. Reclaim.

Documenting Our Legacy with Evidence and Intention

Join the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) for an engaging and transformative one-day virtual symposium dedicated to advancing Afro-American genealogy, historical preservation, and evidence-based family research.

This national virtual gathering will bring together genealogists, historians, researchers, educators, archivists, storytellers, preservationists, and community leaders committed to uncovering, protecting, and documenting the stories of Black families and communities across generations.

Attendees will experience a full day of dynamic presentations, interactive learning opportunities, moderated discussions, and practical research strategies designed to help participants move beyond basic family trees toward deeper historical understanding and documented legacy preservation.

Registration is required

Payment In Full In Advance Only

Registration cancellations will be accepted until Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 11:59 PM

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to AAHGS (admin@aahgs.org) no later than October 10, 2026.

Cancellations received on or before October 10, 2026 will receive a refund less a $15 administrative processing fee.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after October 10, 2026.

Registrants who are unable to attend may transfer their registration to another individual by notifying AAHGS in writing no later than October 17, 2026.

Failure to attend the symposium does not constitute cancellation and is not eligible for a refund.

If a refund is not requested, the registration amount paid may be applied as a credit to the registrant's AAHGS account for future AAHGS membership fees less any applicable administrative fees.
