Descendants Gathering at White Hall

About this event

On behalf of Eastern Kentucky University's School of Communication & White Hall, we invite you to a meaningful gathering dedicated to honoring and discovering the lives and legacies of enslaved people in Madison County, KY. On Saturday, April 5th, 2025, from 11am-3pm, we will come together over lunch to do so, as well as to view an art exhibit.

This gathering will be an opportunity to:
     - Share family history through interviews and connect with other descendants.
     - Contribute to the efforts of reshaping historical messaging about slavery in Madison County.
     - Experience a special art exhibit honoring enslaved lives.

Be aware that filming and photography will take place. It is a dedicated goal to gather information and connect to properly address history in White Hall. Your voice and presence are vital in telling our true history.
