Chapter Info 

The purposes of this organization are:   

To encourage scholarly studies in local and family history;

To encourage individuals who desire to share genealogical and historical expertise to enhance the heritage of African Americans;

To host workshops and seminars, that present informative speakers on history, genealogy, and cultural aspects of our heritage;

and to support and carry out the objectives and policies of the national society.

Chapter Events 

The group meets in person at the Winter Park location, or virtually, if necessitated by a particular event. members would be notified.  Our meetings take place on the second Saturday of the month, except for July and August.

Chapter History  

The central Florida chapter which began in 1991 has met continuously for the last 33 years. during that time Many of our members have become noted speakers, lecturers and published authors, while contributing to genealogical research on both the local and national levels. Our commitment to the cause is a strong today as it has ever been.
